It is quite simple, actually. You pay the amount you want to pay. After the payment is completed, you get a link and a code. You are then able to share this link (or code) with the person you want to give your money to. That person is then able to exchange the Knakie back to real money.
That is it. Nothing more, nothing less. For the launch, we only accept iDeal & SEPA-payments and we charge a small amount for each Knakie depending on the payment method. This is added to the amount on the first payment.
We think the question should be: why wouldn't I use Knakie? Here are some samples why you should use Knakie:
You created a Knakie by paying an amount of your own choosing, but you are regretting your purchase? No worries. We have got you covered. Knakie's are only valid for 60 days. After this period, we will transfer the money back to your bank account.
And, if you do not want to wait - you can just exchange the money using the link you received or code you received.
We got you covered on this part as well. Knakie's are only valid for 60 days. After this period, we will transfer the money bank to your bank account and the Knakie will be removed.
To not become an illegal money transfer service, we've put in some restrictions. These restrictions are not public, but as long as you don't misuse our service for moving illegal money - you should be fine.
Furthermore, Knakie's are only valid for 60 days. After this period, we transfer your money back to your own bank account. At this point the Knakie is removed.
We don't charge any additional costs, besides the costs described in question #7. We do this to build a sustainable service and as we're not a bank - we need to keep it up-and-running.
Sadly, currently only the iDeal payment method from The Netherlands and SEPA transfers within the EU are supported. Support to other payment methods will be added as we grow.
Unfortunately though, we cannot support PayPal at this moment. This because we prefer payment methods where refunds are not possible, otherwise we could get in trouble if you refund a payment.
Sadly, we are a small company in NL and are charged transaction fees by our providers. That means that we charge the following costs for topping-up a Knakie:
These fees allow us to hopefully, by selling Knakies in bulk, make a little profit off it. Prices are including 21% VAT from The Netherlands.
We love to help you with that! For example, if you are a company selling gifts or postcards - an integration with Knakie would be priceless, if we say so ourselves. In case you sell postcards, customers will be able to pay through your own checkout process, at which point you are able to create Knakie's with our API and print it on the postcard.
Once a month we will invoice you all the created Knakie's in one clear overview. Interested in collaborating with us? Shoot us a message!
